“People who knew me – my friends and family members – were not surprised to learn I wanted to go on to medical school after graduating from college. As a child, I liked science and biology classes and enjoyed TV shows about doctors and medicine. After high school, I became a certified emergency medical technician and later a flight paramedic as I worked my way through college.
“Now I am a double-board-certified, fellowship-trained pain specialist. Like the doctors found on the old-time TV classics, I spend a lot of time with my patients. Taking the time to listen to my patients’ concerns helps me to provide the best care and they deserve no less than my undivided attention.
“My philosophy is that all patients need to understand exactly why they’re in pain. I show each of them a spine model and give them a detailed explanation of what is going on with them to cause their pain. When a patient can leave the office with that understanding, they have taken a gigantic first step toward finding lasting pain relief.”
